West Northamptonshire Development Corporation has appointed Chris Garden as director of regeneration and development.

Garden will be responsible for delivering WNDC’s plans for regeneration in Northampton, Daventry and Towcester.

The appointment follows the restructuring of WNDC by its new chief executive, Peter Mawson.

It also follows the outcome of WNDC’s quinquennial review by the government, which re-focused the body on larger developments.

Garden has two decades  experience in regeneration projects. He joined WNDC in 2006 as head of regeneration, responsible for securing development funding and leading the delivery of projects such as the redevelopment of Castle Railway Station.

Before then, Garden was regeneration manager at Northampton Borough Council.

Peter Mawson, WNDC’s chief executive, said: “Chris’s expertise in delivering high profile projects and securing funding will be crucial in helping us achieve our regeneration goals, which are vital to the region’s future economic growth.”
